Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside – and this year Blackburn is bringing the sand to you!

Between 12 August and 28 August, Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting a Sand sculpture trail across Blackburn Town Centre that’s free for families to visit.

During the last two weeks of the summer holidays there will be 10 incredible summer holiday-themed sand sculptures, created by Hebden Bridge-based Sand In Your Eye, installed in businesses across Blackburn Town Centre.

And there will be a three day live carve where approximately two tonnes of sand will be brought in to create a live ‘Under the Sea’ scene, with carvings of sea creatures.

Trail maps will be available from the Ask Me Point showing the location of each of the models. At each of the sculptures will be some facts and figures and if you answer all the quiz questions correctly on the back of the booklet and hand it in to the Ask Me Point you will be in with a chance of winning £100 in high street vouchers to spend however you want!

The live carve will take place in Victoria Court inside The Mall between 12 and 14 August, and the finished result will be on show throughout the event.
