A new public art concept for Luton, Our River, will be erected on the Silver Street entrance wall of The Mall, facing the new Open Lea pocket park.

The pandemic has been hard on us all, but we are proud to be a supporting partner for this fantastic project which will feature a 1000 images of Luton residents.

It will remember those lost to the COVID-19 pandemic, celebrate the key workers that helped us through it and provide a welcome place of reflection where visitors can view the images as they come into and leave the centre.

The artwork will also be available digitally letting loved ones around the world participate.

Anyone who has been affected by the pandemic, whether that be through the loss of a loved one, a key worker, or supported their community in any way, is being invited to share their story and immortalise loved ones by adding their image to the artwork.

You can submit your photo and share your story here.

You can also view the gallery and read their stories here.

The project team will also be in The Mall on the following dates to capture your stories and photos:

  • Saturday 11th September
  • Saturday 18th September
  • Saturday 25th September
  • Tuesday 28th September
