The Mall celebrates Black History Month

We are celebrating Black History Month with a number of events and activities.

We have a banner on display portraying the SMILE-ing boys project by Kay Fudai - an 8-week long happiness research led creative art project addressing the mental health needs of black boys while challenging negative stereotypes in media and society. The portraits displayed are of local Luton boys from Stockwood Park Academy.

The former mayor of Luton, Maria Lovell is teaming up with 2Arts to celebrate Black History Month. They will be running a Black History Month museum and exhibition in two units. You can find them next to Hype and next to Warren James. Plus in their unit on the Gallery level they have a schedule packed full of great workshops and storytelling sessions from 11am - 4pm daily Monday to Friday. Click here for full details.

Plus on Saturday 6th November we will be hosting a special live broadcast from Luton Urban Radio from 12 - 5.30pm.  The team will entertain with multiple genres of music, live speakers, live performances, raffles and giveaways as they acknowledge the end of Black History Month and the beginning of the festive season. If you would like to contribute or get involved please email info@lurlive.co.uk.
