Award-winning disability-led Theatre Company teams up with Hazlitt Institute for exclusive production

The Hazlitt Theatre’s Hazlitt Institute (HI) accessible dance group Strictly Accessible have announced a brand new partnership with local performers with a disability-led theatre company Square Pegs Arts.
Square Pegs Arts are an award-winning arts charity who offer high quality, inspiring, innovative theatre, music and arts projects for people with learning difficulties and autism in Kent & Medway. The Square Pegs Theatre Company specialises in offering performing arts training to those with additional needs or with a disability, producing bold original theatre. They celebrate difference, value diversity and focus on the skills and talent of each individual to support everybody to excel in their own unique way.
The HI Strictly Accessible scheme runs weekly dance sessions for young people and adults who are neurodiverse, on the autistic spectrum or have learning disabilities who want to get their groove on. All sessions are supported by a sensory chill-out space, a cohort of amazing volunteers and a safe, supportive learning environment in which members can thrive. Their recent work has been showcased at the Hazlitt Theatre’s Cinderella Press Launch at Maidstone Museum.
Square Pegs and Strictly Accessible come together this March to produce their brand new production, Main Character Energy. Join the performers as they debut this brand new show on 5 March!
