Maidstone’s Big Day Out
5th Feb - 15th Jun
Maidstone Borough Council (MBC), is inviting everyone to get out and enjoy amazing parks and open spaces to be part of the first community ‘Big Day Out.’
Being held on Saturday 14 June 2025, the inaugural one-day festival is being celebrating the outdoor areas found across the borough of Maidstone.
MBC is partnering with ‘Maidstone’s Big Day Out’ to encourage as many people as possible to discover the Council’s 60 parks and open spaces, take part in the event and organise their own event as part of the day.
Teaming up with Maidstone CAN (Climate Action Network),“Maidstone’s Big Day Out” is being held to celebrate all that the green spaces the borough has to offer, and to enjoy some local hospitality in the same evening.
The one day festival, which takes place during the national ‘Great Big Green Week’ project, is being held so that everyone can experience and enjoy the natural beauty across the borough of Maidstone.
Cllr Stephen Thompson, MBC Cabinet Member for Healthier Stronger Communities said: “We are delighted to support this community led project. It is great to see local people and organisations coordinating the efforts of the large number of volunteers who work all year round to make our green spaces such a precious asset in our borough, in partnership with MBC’s Parks Team.
“We are ordering the best weather and hope people in all our communities will go out to appreciate their local green spaces- as well as local food and drink!”
Organisations, local businesses, communities and all the residents of Maidstone are invited to take part in the 2025 festival and register their interest by emailing: Maidstone@BigDayOut.info
The main organiser behind the Maidstone Big Day Out Richard Conyard added:
“Natural beauty is abundant in Maidstone, found from tiny pieces of woodland, the streams and rivers running through the borough, to the majestic vistas from the North Downs and the Greensand Ridge that look far to the horizon. These are often maintained by hardworking volunteer groups. We hope the Big Day Out on the 14th of June will not only be a fun day out for borough residents, but also an opportunity for those groups to showcase their special patch to their local community.”
